Shooting: Lululemon Ambassador Carolyn Roney [1/3]

Lululemon ambassadors have a very special place in the company. They are community influencers who live and breathe the sweat life. They are community leaders who are constantly working to live their best lives and striving to motivate people around them to do the same. We were hired by the Walnut Creek store to shoot these new images to represent the ambassadors on their turf. The images are to be printed and hung in the store and we are excited to share some thoughts and previews from the shoot.

We started the project off with the very talented yoga teacher Carolyn Roney. Apart from her impressive expertise she is awfully kind and so nice to work with. Caitlin and I were trying out some new lighting equipment and are very thankful for her cooperation and patience. The studio has fantastic natural light coming in from two large windows on one side and we tried to capitalize on that using a two-light LED setup. We used a speed light for a moment but quickly resorted to the LED lights. They are less complicated by far and the results are beautiful. We wanted to emphasize the natural light to match the studio as well as Carolyn’s calm personality. We shot these with our D810’s using a nifty-fifty f/1.4 and our 24-70mm f/2.8 for a little more versatility in tight situations. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding the technicalities of our shoot. We are happy to share. Also, check out our Instagram for more information on where to catch Carolyn and her killer yoga classes.
